Media Button Overlay Cumulative Update Notes
I never really got to write about the last updates to Media Button Overlay. Though it's been a year, I still want my posts to reflect all of the updates since I kept the historic posts intact.
2.0 Release (version 2.0-2.0.4)
- Redesigned to use Material standards
- Add support for skinning (see GH for instructions) (some skins could have color picker support to theme)
- Orientation of buttons can now be changed
- Player can now be started with the overlay
- Opacity slider changed to conform to the rest of the app design
- Long-press to move the overlay to desired location on the sides of the screen
- About dialog added with credits - thank you!
- Added link to the repo in-app
- Removed the donation button - thank you anyone who did before!
- Better multiscreen support
Bugfixes
- Fix settings migrations (2.0.1, 2.0.2)
- Fix Android 5 lanch bug (2.0.1)
- Fix an issue on some HTC phones where holding down the overlay to move it would freeze the interface accepting drops. Added ability to tap to select movement area or close button in the event that the interface freezes again despite the fix (2.0.3)
- Properly fix drag-and-drop issues on Lollipop (2.0.4)
- Adjust floating action button so checkbox options are more visible (2.0.4)
Notification Release (2.1)
- New setting to allow toggling the overlat from a persisting notification (can be started at device boot)
- Added icon to drag-and-drop menu to open settings
- Overlay should restart automatically if the app is updated while the overlay is running (just reopen the app)
- Replaced the floating action start button to a start button in the settings
- Secondary color changed to gray, default overlay color is now purple if it hasn't already been customised
